Salivax™ -Drug Screen

(For detection of THC, Cocaine, Opiates and Amphetamines in Saliva)

Catalog No. :

Currently undergoing clinical trials.

Salivax™-Drug Screen (under development) is a qualitative assay which makes full use of the strengths of the Salivax™ apparatus with its unique saliva filtration and purification system. The test is a one-step immunochromatographic assay that uses the principle of competitive binding. The drug metabolites contained in saliva compete with the colloidal gold conjugate and thus absence of the drug will be indicated by a line where indicated for that drug. A distinct line forms where the The test takes 10 to 20 minutes from the point of application of sample to the device. A negative test is indicated by 5 lines, one each for AMP (Amphetamines), COC (Cocaine), OPI (Opiates like Heroin, Morphine), THC (Marijuana) and the final line is a control line indicating that the test and device functioned correctly. The ABSENCE OF A LINE where indicated suggests of the presence of metabolites of that particular drug.

Like all Salivax™ products, Salivax™-Drug Screen is non-invasive, easy to use, rapid, reliable and accurate. It requires no specialized equipment or specially trained personnel. It doesn't expose health care workers to potentially infectious body fluids. The simplicity and lack of necessity for providing privacy such as with a urine test makes Salivax™-ChemScan very convenient and inexpensive to use especially in public health, military and home applications. The Salivax™ tests have an added ease of storage being stable at virtually all ambient temperatures.

Salivax™-Drug Screen is indicated for screening of subjects for the drugs of abuse indicated above. . ImmunoScience recommends that all subjects testing positive on Salivax™ be confirmed by conventional quantitative serum assay.

Salivax™-Drug Screen will detect drug metabolites in saliva with corresponding urinary cut-off according to the recommendations of National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The corresponding urinary cutoff levels for Salivax™-ChemScan saliva test are: THC (11-nor-D-THC-9-Carboxylic acid) 50 ng/mL, OPI (Morphine) 300 ng/mL, COC (Benzoylecgonine) 300 ng/mL, AMP (D-Amphetamine) 1000 ng/mL.

When compared with Syva® EMIT® II Assay, Salivax™-Drug Screen had relative sensitivity and specificity of: THC (96.5 percent, 99.2 percent), Opiates (99.6 percent, 99.1 percent), Cocaine (96.3 percent, 99.8 percent) and Amphetamines (97.8 percent, 99.3 percent).
